LivFlo®

Soy flour is the product obtained by finely grinding full-fat dehulled soyabeans, by grinding the defatted flakes produced from dehulled soyabeans. For the end product to be labelled as soya flour, 97% of the product must pass through a 100-mesh standard screen. LivFlo is a range of high-quality soya flour from Living Foods, with a protein content of 54%. Our flours are available in various shapes, sizes, and qualities.

Our soya flours are versatile, economical, and can be used in a variety of food products and food processing applications. When extruded, LivFlo flours can easily mimic the coarse and fibrous look and feel of cooked meat, making it a healthy alternative for vegetarians, vegans and flexitarians.

It can also be used to add a good dose of protein and a nice level of crunch to nutrition bars and snacks. Being quite flavourful, it can add some richness and extra nutrition to healthier, alternate versions of some of the world's conventionally- made favourite foods, like donuts!

With processed meat, defatted soya flour, once rehydrated, can serve as a meat replacer from the bare stage. Being plant-based, and with a suitable texture, it extends the shelf-life and adds bulk to ground meat applications by increasing yield, adding juiciness, and lowering the fat content.

For poultry applications such as ground chicken, chicken mince or chicken keema, 10% levels of added LivFlo defatted soya flour can help reduce ingredient costs while lowering the loss of water and/or fat during cooking.

LivFlo also has many uses in packaged and processed health foods, like protein and nutrition bars. When it comes to snack food and nutrition bar related applications, defatted soya flour makes for a great extender and improver - upto 30% flour can be added, by weight. It provides a tasty, portable, and convenient way to make healthy products, and offer them to consumers at an affordable price.

Nutritionally, soybean protein is an excellent complement to lysine-limited cereal protein, which is why soy flour works as an economical protein supplement in bread, tortillas, pasta and other cereal products. Soya flours are available in the form of defatted soya flour (which are obtained from edible flakes) which contains less than 1% oil. Full-fat soya flour, made from unextracted, dehulled beans, contains about 18% to 20% oil.
